This versatile design is the perfect way to kickstart your holiday crafting, bringing a touch of festive magic to your creations. Get ready to impress with not one, but two beautiful projects to help you capture the spirit of the season!

Retro Snowflake Card Instructions

Prepare Card Base:

  • Cut a piece of A4 white card in half.
  • Trim both halves to create two 5 3/4″ squares.

Create a Frame:

  • Take one of the 5 3/4″ squares and cut out the centre to make a 5 3/4″ frame. Save the middle piece for use in the bonus card.

Emboss the Pieces:

  • Emboss both the 5 3/4″ frame and the other 5 3/4″ square using the snow embossing folder.

Add Silver Detailing:

  • Lightly drag a silver ink pad over the embossed areas of both the frame and the square to highlight the design.

Cut and Prepare Silver Frame:

  • Use the 6″ frame pack to cut a silver frame. Set aside the middle cut-out from this frame to use for the bonus card.

Assemble the Card:

  • Centre and adhere the 5 3/4″ embossed square onto the card blank.

Add Vellum Strip:

  • Run a strip of vellum across the middle of the card for a soft layered effect.

Attach the Frames:

  • Using power tape, stick the 5 3/4″ embossed frame to the 6″ silver frame.
  • Mount this layered frame onto foam tape for dimension, then position it centrally over the embossed square on the card blank.

Add Greeting and Embellishments:

  • Die-cut a greeting in silver and adhere it to the vellum.
  • Add a gem embellishment to finish the look.

  • Layer these pieces onto a card blank.

Add Snow Die Cut:

  • Cut out the snow die design and position it centrally on the card.

Embellish:

  • Decorate with snowflakes and additional gems as desired.
