Card of the week 501

This week we’ve used two of the new Spring embossing folders with matching stencils from Nellie Snellen to make quick but effective Easter cards.

Instructions Card 1

EF3D067 and MMS4K-045 Easter wreath
7×7 white card (used with a top fold)
spring yellow and rose pink Craft Artist card
EEB020 dots embossing folder

Step 1
Cut a 6″ stitched square in spring yellow and adhere to the centre of your card blank

Step 2
Emboss a piece of white card with the dots embossing folder and adhere to your spring yellow mount

Step 3
Cut a 4.5″ stitched circle in spring yellow and adhere to the centre of your embossed panel

Step 4
Emboss the easter egg folder onto white card, lay the stencil over the top and add colour (we’ve used versamagic dew drops

Step 5
Use a 2″ circle and a 4.25″ circle together to create a frame for your coloured design

Step 6
Take the 2″ white circle and stamp “Spring is here” in yellow ink and adhere to the centre of the yellow circle

Step 7
Use a small, clear card bag and fill with sequins; tape the bag shut and adhere this to the reverse of your coloured circle cut out SEE PHOTO

Step 8
Using foam tape adhere the coloured circle to your yellow mount, ensuring that your stamped greeting is lined up in the centre

Instructions Card 2

The pink card has made in the same manner but just cut out your coloured design with a 4.25″ circle and use a pink mount. Cut a 2″ pink circle for the greeting, which has been attached with foam tape

Instructions Card 3

NSCS003 Easter and spring

Step 1
Emboss the folder onto a square of white card measuring 5×5″; colour by laying the stencil over and using your chosen medium (pens, pencils, dew drop ink pads (spring pansy, pixie dust, thatched straw etc

Step 2
Cut a purple mount measuring 5.5 x 5.5″ and adhere to a 6×6″ white card blank

Step 3
Adhere your coloured embossed design on to the purple mount

Step 4
Cut a strip of white card to measure 5.5″ x 1.5″. Stamp ‘Happy Easter’ three times along the length (we’ve used a spring pansy versamagic dew drop)

Step 5
Use the edge of your inkpad to run straight lines around all four edges of the greetings strip then add to your card with foam tape.

Step 1
Emboss the design onto silver mirror card and add colour with alcohol pens

Step 2
Stamp the background with warm breeze versaclair and trim three lines across

Step 3
Mount onto a piece of teal card and trim to leave a small border

Step 4
Add a mallow flower for decoration finishing with a small gem
