This week’s Card of the Week showcases an exquisite design featuring the Nellie Snellen Snow 3D Embossing Folder paired perfectly with the matching mask stencil. The intricate snow texture and delicate stencilling combine to create a stunning winter wonderland effect that’s sure to inspire your holiday crafting!

Prepare the Base:

  • Start with a 6×6 square of plain white card.
  • Ink over the entire surface using Blueberry Gold Fusion Ink and Passionfruit Gold Fusion Ink. Blend the two inks to create a gradient or soft fusion effect over the card.

Embossing:

  • Once the inked card is dry, place it into the Nellie Snellen Snow Embossing Folder (EF3D064).
  • Run it through your embossing machine to create a snow-embossed texture.

Stencil Layering:

  • Place the matching stencil (MMS4K-040) over the embossed surface.
  • Ink through the stencil using Ice White Fusion Ink to highlight the raised snow pattern on the embossed design.

Adding Vellum Strip:

  • Tear a strip of vellum to measure 2 1/4″ wide.
  • Position the vellum horizontally across the centre of the embossed panel.

Create the Frame:

  • Using the FrameMaker dies (JND436 & JND437), cut a frame from Denim Blue essential card.
  • Cut a second, slightly smaller frame from Coconut White essential card.
  • Layer the Coconut White frame over the Denim Blue one to create a two-tone frame, and adhere it around the vellum strip on the embossed card.

Cut and Layer the Sentiment:

  • Die-cut the “Let it Snow” (JND336) sentiment twice—once in Coconut White and once in Denim Blue card.
  • Offset the Coconut White die-cut slightly over the Denim Blue for a shadow effect.
  • Place the layered sentiment over the vellum strip, centring it horizontally.

Assemble the Card:

  • Attach the finished 6×6 panel to the centre of an 8″ square card blank, leaving a border around the design.

Final Touches:

  • Double-check alignment, and adjust as needed. You can also add embellishments like small snowflakes or gems for extra sparkle if desired.
