Card of the Week: Mother’s Day Edition!

This week’s Card of the Week is all about celebrating the incredible mothers in our lives! We’ve got a stunning variety of heartfelt designs, all beautifully crafted thanks to the creative touch of John Lockwood. Whether you’re looking for something elegant, floral, or full of charm, these cards are sure to make Mum feel extra special this Mother’s Day.

Using Scraps of card from the Lilacs and Soft pinks Canvas card Packs punch circles using the Circle Punch PPL2801, these are used as the background for all three cards

MUM in Lilac

• Cut a square of coconut white card to 4” Square
• Arrange three rows of circles as shown in the colours
• Cut the letters MUM form the same three colours twice
• Adhere the same colour letter on each matching circle on the top and bottom row
• Make up a flower – I used the New stitched dogwood flower (coming very soon), in matching colours and adhere these to the centre row
• Add to a mat of white card than add to a small 5” square card

Modern Mum

• Cut 2 panels each of three colours of 3 ½” x 1 ½”
• On one of each colour cut the letters to spell MUM or MAM MOM depending on the vernacular of what you call your mum!
• Reserve the cut letters for another project , glue the waste piece onto one of the other panels swapping colours as shown
• Mat onto a piece of coconut white card 5” x 4” and add borders of two of the colours used in the main piece
• Mat onto a card blank 6” x 5”

Tumbling Flowers

• On a piece of coconut white card cut to 4” x 6 ½” arrange 5 rows of the punched circles in descending colour order I used a mix of colours form the Lilac and Pinks canvas card set
• Cut a set of stitch flowers in each of the colours used and make up the medium flower form the set in each colour
• Arrange the flowers in colour order from the top left to bottom right matching the colours of the punched circles
